Senior Statistician

Lei has extensive knowledge of the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) surveys, particularly the fiscal datasets of the Common Core of Data (CCD). She has led the quality assurance and data file production efforts for the CCD fiscal datasets, including the National Public Education Financial Survey, Local Education Agency (School District) Finance Survey (F-33), Teacher Compensation Survey, and School Level Finance Survey. Immediately prior to joining Activate, Lei served as a senior analyst on the Education Statistics Support Institute Network for NCES. Lei has years of experience in disclosure risk analysis and applying data swapping techniques to protect the confidentiality of survey subjects. She has performed quantitative analysis, written documentations, and authored technical reports for clients at NCES. Lei holds a SAS base programming certificate and was trained by SAS Institute on SAS macro language, SAS SQL, and design and analysis of probability surveys. Lei received both her Ph.D. in economics and M.S. in statistics from Utah State University.
