OECD Results from TALIS 2024

Activate led U.S. data collection efforts for the 2024 administration of the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS), the world’s largest international survey of teachers and principals. Sponsored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and conducted in the U.S. by the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES), TALIS 2024 gathered data from 55 education systems around the world on their educators’ backgrounds, working environments, professional development, and beliefs and attitudes toward teaching. Activate provided methodological and content-area expertise to U.S. project activities, including study design, sampling, instrument adaptation, recruitment, and data collection.

Released by OECD in October 2025, Results from TALIS 2024 highlights findings on a variety of timely and relevant topics, including how teachers adapt to increasingly diverse student populations, their use of technology and artificial intelligence, and how they respond to students’ social and emotional needs. These data help governments to make policies that improve teaching and learning conditions in their schools.
